Meringue caters gourmet desserts ranging from small dessert bars, custom chocolate truffles, to showpiece wedding cakes. All desserts start with the highest quality local ingredients. Meringue works with each couple individually to make their wedding dessert personalized and special.
Most couples have questions before they start meeting with cake decorators. Here is valuable information and advice to know before you start the process:
Q: When should we start looking for a cake decorator or bakery?
A: If you have secured a wedding date during a popular month it is wise to start looking up to 1 year in advance. Pastry Chef Jen Barney books up to 2 wedding cakes per weekend.
Q: How much money does a wedding dessert cost?
A: It would be difficult to have a hard-and-fast price list since there are many variables that go into a designed cake or dessert. Sometimes a smaller cake can take longer to create than a larger cake.
Know what your dessert budget is. It is such a simple question and the cornerstone for what size and design a cake or other dessert can be. I give each couple the best cake or dessert I can that fits their budget. If you have a family member who is contributing please go over financial boundaries before the consultation.
Q: Do you have a minimum order requirement for a cake?
A: Our minimum order for a cake that includes a complementary tasting or custom design is $200.00.
Q: Where is Meringue located?
A: Meringue does not have a store front. All desserts are made in the kitchen of Pogreba's Restaurant in La Crosse, WI.
